Spheres of scientific interests of the department are development and using of high-technologies in surgery, urology, anesthesiology and reanimation.

Scientific researches of the department are divided into ngma_4 thematic groups:

1. Complex diagnostics and treatment of focal and diffuse diseases of liver and pancreas, surgery of malignant tumors of the abdominal area (Zagaynov V.E., Zigmantovich Y.M., Avdonin S.N., Basanov K.V., Vasenin S.A.).

2. Reconstructive-plastic operations on the urogenital organs in case of urine drift abnormalities. Oncourology: treatment of cancer of kidney, urinary bladder, prostate. (Atduev V.A., Ledyaev D.S., Lubarskaya J.O.)

3. Cardiac surgery and cardiac anesthesiology, protection of myocardium in the operation with using of artificial blood circulation. Chronic pulmonary hypertension. Treatment of pulmonary embolism. (Pitshyugin V.V.)

4. Transplantology (Zagaynov V.E., Atduev V.A., Goldenberg A.A., Vasenin S.A.)
