Clinical bases of the department are most equipped hospitals of the city: The Volga Regional Medical Centre, Nizhniy Novgorod Police Hospital, Nizhniy Novgorod Cardiological Centre, Nizhniy Novgorod Regional Hospital Named after Semashko, Nizhniy Novgorod Regional Oncological Dispensary. Teaching is performed in English.

Students study in the department from ngma_ngma_the 2-nd to the 6-th academic year:

At the 2-nd course students study surgical nursing.

The lectures on surgical nursing are delivered by Zagaynova E.V.

At the 3-d course general surgery is taught. After the 3-d academic year students have an exam.

4-6 courses are devoted to clinical surgery (with exam after 4-th academic year and the practical skills test in the 6-th academic year).

Clinical surgery lectures are delivered by Zagaynov V.E., Zigmantovich Y.M., Avdonin S.N., Vasenin S.A.

At the 4-th course students study urology as well.

The lectures on urology are delivered by Atduev V.A.

The 3-d and the 5-th courses are also occupied with anesthesiology, reanimation and intensive therapy (questions are included in the 3-d academic year exam and in the practical skills test in 6-th academic year).

Lectures are delivered by Pitshyugin V.V.

Students visit the Practical Skills Centre every academic year.

Professors and associate professors take part in the final state attestation of foreign students, who studied specialty “general medicine”.

Department is able to organize post-diploma students’ training (specialties: surgery, urology, anesthesiology and reanimation).
