FIME STUDENTS CELEBRATE THE ANNIVERSARY OF NIZHNY NOVGOROD

On September 25, 2021, the 3rd year FIME students joined the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. A.Y. Kovaleva, tutor, conducted a tour to the Nizhny Novgorod ropeway, which is one of the main tourist routes in our city. The students admired the views over the Volga while enjoying autumn's golden beauty described by A.S. Pushkin. Besides, a history knowledge quiz was held. The overseas students spoke about Yuri Vsevolodovich, the founder of the city, Minin and Pozharsky, national heroes, and also Maxim Gorky and Valery Chkalov, distinguished people of Nizhny.

The next day, on September 26, FIME students guided by E.V. Levicheva, tutor, visited the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin open to the public after recent reconstruction. Walking along the top of the Kremlin wall, they discussed the ancient history of the city and admired astonishing views over the Volga. The students also climbed to the most beautiful viewpoint of the city – the bell tower of the Transfiguration Cathedral.
